These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply when you use our website global-firesafety.co.uk or book any inspection, testing, certification, assessment, survey or other service (“Services”) from Global Fire Safety Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). Please read them carefully. By booking a Service you agree to these Terms.

2. Quotes and prices
- Prices shown on our website are “from” prices for a standard property. The final price depends on the size, type and condition of the property and the number of appliances, circuits, alarms or items to be tested.
- A written quote is valid for [30] days unless it says otherwise.
- Prices [include / do not include] VAT. Travel within London and the M25 is included unless your quote says otherwise.
- Remedial work, repairs, parts and extra visits are not included in inspection prices. We will always quote and get your approval before carrying them out.
- If the property or scope of work is materially different from what you told us, we may adjust the price. We will agree any change with you before continuing.
3. Booking and our contract
A contract is formed when we confirm your booking by email, phone or message. Please check the details in our confirmation and tell us straight away if anything is wrong. If you book on behalf of a landlord, company or other person, you confirm that you have their authority to do so.
4. Access and your responsibilities
- You must make sure our engineer has safe, clear access to the property and all areas, appliances, meters, consumer units and equipment to be inspected at the agreed time.
- If the property is occupied, you are responsible for giving tenants proper notice and arranging access.
- Gas and electricity supplies must be on and working for gas and electrical testing.
- Please tell us in advance about any known hazards, such as suspected asbestos, damaged installations, pets or restricted parking.
- Electrical testing means switching the power off for short periods. Please protect data, alarms, freezers and sensitive equipment during this time.
5. Carrying out the Services
- Our qualified engineers and assessors carry out the Services with reasonable care and skill, in line with the relevant regulations, standards and scheme rules in force at the time.
- Inspections are non-intrusive unless agreed otherwise. We do not lift fixed floor coverings, open sealed structures or move heavy furniture. Areas we cannot access are recorded as limitations in the report.
- Appointment times are given as time slots. We will do our best to arrive on time and will contact you if we are delayed.
- If we find an immediately dangerous situation, we are required to make it safe. This may include isolating an appliance or circuit, with your or the occupant’s permission where possible. We will explain why.
6. Certificates and reports
- We aim to email certificates and reports within 24–48 hours of the visit. Complex reports (for example some asbestos surveys or fire risk assessments) may take longer. We will tell you if so.
- We may hold certificates until payment has been received in full.
- A certificate or report reflects the condition of the installation or premises at the time of inspection. It is not a guarantee that faults will not happen afterwards.
- You are responsible for keeping certificates, giving copies to tenants where the law requires it, and arranging renewals on time. We may send renewal reminders as a courtesy, but we are not responsible if a renewal is missed.
7. Defects and remedial work
If an inspection finds defects, we will explain them and can provide a quote for remedial work. Remedial work is a separate contract under these Terms. An “unsatisfactory” result may mean a certificate cannot be issued until the work is done. You are responsible for making sure required remedial work is completed within the legal timescales.
8. Payment
- Payment is due [on completion of the visit / on receipt of invoice / within 7 days of the invoice date] by bank transfer, card or another method we agree.
- For business customers, we may charge statutory interest and compensation on late payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- If payment is overdue, we may suspend further Services until it is paid.
9. Cancelling or rearranging
- You can cancel or rearrange an appointment free of charge if you give us at least [24] hours’ notice.
- If you cancel with less notice, or our engineer cannot get access when they arrive, we may charge a failed-visit fee of [£amount] to cover our costs.
- We may need to rearrange an appointment because of illness, emergencies, bad weather or other events outside our control. If so, we will offer the next available slot and you will not be charged.
10. Your rights as a consumer
If you are a consumer (booking for yourself rather than for a business) and you book by phone, online or by email, you usually have 14 days from the date the contract is made to cancel for any reason. If you ask us to carry out the Service within those 14 days and then cancel, you must pay for the work done up to that point. Once the Service has been fully completed at your request, you lose the right to cancel.
Nothing in these Terms affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If a Service is not carried out with reasonable care and skill, you are entitled to ask us to redo it or, if that is not possible, to a price reduction.
11. Our liability
- We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
- We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by existing defects in the property or installation, by faults that could not reasonably be found during a non-intrusive inspection, by work carried out by others, or by you not following our recommendations.
- For business customers, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of rent, loss of business or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for any booking is limited to [the price paid for that booking / the limit of our insurance].
- For consumers, we are not responsible for loss or damage that was not foreseeable when the contract was made.
12. Using our website

13. Complaints
We want you to be happy with our work. If something has gone wrong, please contact us at info@global-firesafety.co.uk or 020 3977 7556. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. If you are still not satisfied, you can raise it with the certification or registration body for the work (for example Gas Safe Register or NAPIT).
14. General
- We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you book will apply to that booking.
- If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, the rest will still apply.
- These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
